We are glad to inform that on May 28th 2015, Microchem has just secured a project to replace and install Cooling Tower at PT. Styrindo Mono Indonesia.
PT Styrindo Mono Indonesia (SMI) is one of the fully owned subsidiaries company of PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk. SMI is the only Styrene Monomer producer in Indonesia serving both domestic downstream industries and regional export markets. Styrene monomer is a raw material for downstream industries manufacturing PS (Polystyrene),EPS (Expanded Polystyrene),SAN (Styrene Acrylonitrile), ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene), SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber), SBL (Styrene Butadiene Latex) and UPR (Unsaturated Polyester Resin). The plant is located in Puloampel, Serang and is about 40KM from the Naphtha Cracker plant. The plant produces Styrene Monomer with a capacity of 340,000MT per year.
SMI chose a 1 Cell Cross Flow Cooling Tower and we expect to start installing the Cooling Tower in September 2015 after some preparation period. Microchem should comply and follow a strict safety rules when performing installation in SMI area. With past experience in offshore oil mining Cooling Tower installation (CNOOC project), we believe the strict safety rules will prove our capabilities and expertise in this specific engineering industry.
